This division is headed by Mr. Jim Sebastian, former Coordinator of Private Schools in the Ministry of Education and focuses on the development and export of education products and services internationally. In China, PDS works through Canadian Educational Services (China), a joint Canada-China organization established by PDS in cooperation with the Canadian International Academy (CIA) in Nanjing, PRC. The division was established with the aims of promoting Canada’s educational interests in China and of fostering education exchange opportunities between the two countries.
Through Canadian Educational Services (China), PDS and CIA provide the following services:
- Curriculum development to meet the needs of ESL learners in Ontario overseas schools and in international programs in Chinese schools
- Supporting overseas Ontario schools in meeting Ministry of Education guidelines
- Professional Development opportunities (on-site and online) for Canadian and other international schools in China and south-east Asia
- Speakers for international conferences in Asia
- Marketing Canadian university degree programs
- Marketing Canadian post-secondary certificate and diploma programs
- Marketing North American professional certificate programs
- Advice to Canadian educational institutions in penetrating the education market in China
- Direct access to Chinese business investment expertise
- Linkage to educational investment opportunities in China
- Professional development for business leaders on doing business in China
- Recruitment of principals and teachers for international programs operating in China
