Significant changes to the Ministry of Education’s inspection requirements have been made as a result of new policies on assessment and evaluation as described in the Ministry’s Growing Success, 2010 document, which schools are required to begin implementing in September, 2010. These changes have implications for the school’s inspection particularly regarding classroom practices, which are described in the Ministry’s Inspection Requirements for Private Schools, 2010 document.
PDS will come to your school and conduct an inspection which includes all of the aspects of the Ministry of Education inspection. We will meet with the principal and observe classes and provide a report of findings with recommendations for improvement.
In addition to the components required by the Ministry of Education, PDS has identified good educational practices for school improvement several of which can be found in the PDS publication Policy/Procedure Manual, 2010. In its report to the school, PDS will suggest areas in which the school can improve practices.
Our fee for a Pre-Inspection visit is $1,500 (plus 13% HST). This includes a review of all aspects of the school’s operation that pertains to the Ministry of Education’s inspection with a follow-up report with recommendations within one week of the visit.
