| Lunch & Learn is designed to be an informative and useful advanced forum of discussion and learning for principals, department heads and key teachers of private schools. During a two and a half hour lunch, participants will be invited to listen to a thirty-minute presentation on a relevant topic chosen for the day, followed by a two-hour discussion and exchange of ideas. It will be a great opportunity for participants to ask questions and learn how their colleagues are solving school challenges. This forum also provides an excellent opportunity for networking, sharing of ideas, and learning from each other’s knowledge and experience. The Presentation In this informal presentation and discussion, Mr. Sebastian will focus on the Ministry’s and public’s expectations of private schools: competence, leadership, and trust. Private schools, in turn, have their own expectations of government, particularly of the Ministry of Education. These expectations, however, do not always coincide. Our presenter will identify the varying stake holders’ expectations and will propose practical avenues to minimize the gaps. Understanding the role of school inspectors; their mandate and procedures, may help private school operators meet Ministry expectations, while at the same time, pursuing their respective school philosophies and areas of specialization. This relaxed forum will allow school operators to share their experiences and learn from each others’ success and challenges. |
