E-learning
| PDS is currently preparing a small seminar, limited to 10 participants, on provision of e-learning. If you, or your school, are contemplating moving in the direction of teaching credit courses online, we strongly recommend that you attend this informative workshop.
The topics to be covered are:
The presentation and discussion will be facilitated by Dr. Ronnie Miller, the first principal of a privately operated school authorized to grant credits for online courses. Dr. Miller will discuss the challenges he encountered while operating his online school, and will propose possible solutions. Participants will also be invited to join an online Math class, to better appreciate the possibilities inherent in this technology. Participants will need to come with wireless laptops to join this class. Mr. Jim Sebastian, previously Coordinator of Private Schools, Ontario Ministry of Education, will discuss the inspection process and the specific challenges for e-learning schools.
